How to book a Funeral Celebrant
We meet each other.
It is important that you think I am the right person to work with for your loved ones funeral ceremony.
We can initially “meet” over emails or calls or via video / phone, and take time over cups of tea to start planning the funeral ceremony you would like.
You book.
Quite often the booking is taken care of by your Funeral Director, but occasionally we do book direct (especially for memorials) – if so I send you a booking form to sign, then send an invoice.
We chat.
To start off with, I ask you a lot of questions. Sorry, but it is important to ensure that I capture all of the information I need to create the perfect ceremony for you.
Your answers really dictate what we include in the ceremony. I need enough information to pull your words together to tell your story and include relevant elements that reflect who the ceremony is about. It requires some chat, but we can take it slow.
I appreciate that these chats for funeral and memorial planning can be difficult, please take your time.
I bring your loved ones story to life
Based on everything you have told me, your loved ones story is carefully crafted, and your ceremony is customised to reflect the deceased.
No two ceremonies are ever the same, they’re created from scratch.
I do not perform any ceremony without your OK. You will receive an audio draft before the ceremony date. You need to be happy with everything, so this is your chance to advise of tweaks.
As this is a funeral or memorial ceremony, you may want another family member to listen to it at this stage.
The day arrives. I understand that there will be a lot of emotions involved on the day, so I will do my best to keep you calm.
I will work with the Funeral Director and crematorium or burial ground staff to ensure I manage your ceremony to the nth degree.
You will receive a copy of the ceremony on the day, along with a hug (or elbow bump) and my sincere condolences and best wishes.
